This was my first and accepted submission to the 2019 ElfQuest Fan Art calendar with the theme of "Bonded." It ran in the calendar with the title, "Brothers in The Hunt."

One of my favorite stories from ElfQuest by Wendy Pini was the Hidden Years 1 one-shot, "Wolfwood," in which Strongbow pursues his exiled wolf-friend, Lashpaw, for a final farewell, and then the real trouble starts. It is an amazing piece of storytelling with almost no dialogue and it stands alone, without requiring the reader to intimately know the series.

For my part, I am pleased that my image ran in the calendar, but I feel I did not quite manage what I wanted with it. I do not think I really conveyed Strongbow leaning forward from wolfback and instead made his torso just look short. I have other issues with the image as well, but there is no use picking it apart unless I plan to redo it.
