James Keene of Deer Me translated quite readily from a striped skunk to a husky.

As I mentioned on the Velvet Hairyson image, I find animal-related jokes easier when dealing with just one type, rather than an entire menagerie. I think James is going to show a lot more dog behaviors than the other characters and is going to be the focus of a lot of dog jokes.
