Top: A friend expressed surprise when I indicated my enthusiasm for one of his characters who had been revealed to be a "twist" villain. I liked the character before he was revealed to be a villain and I still liked him afterward.

Bottom: With the common trope of a deceased (or thought-to-be-deceased) villain coming back, I illustrated a check-in with the status of another villain from this friend's same book series.
