One of my favorite scenes from ElfQuest by Wendy Pini is from Book Four, Quest's End, before the elf-troll war for the Palace. "Friendly" rivals Cutter and Rayek get exposed to a trap that catches Cutter. Rayek begrudgingly helps him... with an amusing lack of concern about the high stakes -- for Cutter -- of the situation.
