Left: This was originally drawn before 1990 and may be my oldest surviving drawing. The female elf is an early precursor of Lily Lightail of Sharpclaw and the male elf evolved into Loden of Sharpclaw.

Right: A mermaid based on Ariel from Disney's animated 1989 adaptation of The Little Mermaid is angry and wields a magic spear.
